The route was preceded by conscientious and thorough preparation. All safety measures, such as crossing plates and no-parking signs, were laid and installed in a timely manner.

On the night of June 29th the time had come: the last of nine containers with a diameter of 7.00 m for the desalination of the Werra was ready to begin its journey.

In some places there was just 30 cm of space between the houses for the huge 54-ton steel container.
