4th generation escort vehicles (BF4)
Since 2017, the use of 4th-generation escort vehicles has been required to secure heavy and special transports. These vehicles serve to relieve the burden on the police, who have been severely overburdened due to the increase in special and heavy transports in recent years.
The BF4s were equipped with eight traffic signs, instead of the previous three. In addition, the variable message sign system can be projected onto all four sides of the vehicle.
The 4th generation escort vehicles are already taken into account when submitting the application.
In order for these vehicles to be used, a road book must be created for the route being driven. In addition, the responsible district provides instructions to the BF4 drivers.
Auxiliary police
While many federal states rely on BF4 escort vehicles, the state of Lower Saxony has opted for the use of auxiliary police.

Roadbook
For some time now, the Hessian police have stopped escorting heavy goods vehicles, in accordance with a decree. Heavy goods vehicles previously subject to police escort are now escorted by BF4 vehicles manned by administrative assistants. The basis for escort is a road book issued specifically for the route and verified by an authority.
The administrative effort is correspondingly greater here, as is the (financial) effort for the actual BF4 support.

We are well-known to the authorities in this area and are known for our fast and reliable support in roadbook creation. This means that we sometimes need no more than 2-5 working days from the commission for creation to the introduction of the roadbook.
