K+S boiler transport

Steel boiler transport from Hanau/Main to Heringen/Werra

In three night stages from Tuesday, July 6th to Friday, July 9th, 2021, we transported three gigantic steel boilers from the inland waterway pier in Hanau to Heringen in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district of eastern Hesse.

After months of planning and extensive preparatory work, the time finally came in early July 2021. The three huge steel boilers (25.50 m x 6.00 m x 6.50 m) arrived in Hanau by barge. There, they were loaded onto three heavy-duty transporters and continued their journey overland to their destination in Heringen, eastern Hesse, in a total of three overnight stages.

Among other things, over 600 no-parking signs were erected, traffic signs were dismantled, and traffic lights were changed. Various traffic safety measures also had to be implemented during the nights of the transport. With the support of the respective local police authorities, the transport finally arrived at its destination in Heringen shortly before midnight on Friday, July 9, after a journey of approximately 100 kilometers.
